I am curious if anyone is interested in learning toki pona.
There are already lessons, and I'd more act as a general guide. There are 18 lessons, and we could probably do about 3 a week and you'd be fluent in about a month.
It's a made up language with a rather small community, so it'd be more like learning a game or playing with a toy, but if anyone is interested, I think it'd be fun.
Hey everyone.
I'm making this post as MobiusCoffee so it's less confusing while I talk about stuff on the University of Reddit website.
I plan to use the University of Reddit website to make sure I'm dealing with the people who actually signed up for the course.
My reason for doing this is 3 fold.
- I would like to actually try to have the class be more like a class and actually use the framework of the website for more than just cataloguing. So, all assignments must be turned into me with a message via a PM to my University of Reddit page.
- The Unversity of Reddit gives everyone an @ureddit email, so if you don't want to use the actual website, you can still easily send me a PM via my @ureddit email address: mobiuscoffee@ureddit.com
- For greater convience, if you want don't want to go the University of Reddit page, you can set up email forwarding, or configure it for IMAP (with SSL), or even configure it for POP.
I think this will be good for the class, and will allow me to make sure those who are enrolled are taking the class and those who aren't enrolled are effectively auditing the class (as it would be in a normal university). By that I mean, anyone can sit in the subreddit, but only those actually enrolled will get homework and whatnot checked.
I will start next week, but I won't freeze the enrollment I think until maybe two weeks in. I will send a PM to those enrolled letting them know when we will be having our first group discussion.
- Not everyone has or is able to use Google+ right now, so we'll stick to Skype.
So, to conclude (an old fashioned tldr), to be enrolled in the class through the toki pona class University of Reddit page means you will have your work checked by me and you will know about group discussions.
- no lectures added

The class schedule will update on the xkcd schedule.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
If you come in late or want to wait, it's okay, I'll still go through and correct everything.
Skype or Google+ Hangouts every 2 weeks, depending on what everyone can do. The group discussions will happen on the weekends so as to catch everyone when they are more likely to be free.
Starting date is the week of October 18th.

Hello everyone!
I am another account of MobiusCoffee. I'm using this name in tomo sona pi toki pona (school of toki pona) because this name exists in toki pona land. Later, we will start learning toki pona.
After that bit of fun, I'll talk in English for awhile.
I think having 3-4 classes posted here every week would be a good way to do things. I'll be using the lessons from lipu pi jan Pije.
I'll be erasing the answers to the problems at the end of his lessons, and you will have to post them for yourselves. I'll then go and check them for everyone.
I think we should also have some sort of group meetings so that we can all practice together. It'll be fun and make sure everyone is keeping up with the class.
I'll give the class some time to populate, but I'll probably limit the size so it's not crazy in here.
If you want to get ahead of all the other students, feel free to read the wikipedia article or the official site.
I'll update this as things are more clear, like when this will all start.
