An introduction to the principles of business finance. The course comprises of four modules of fundamentals of managerial finance, long-term investment decisions, long-term financing decisions, and short-tern financing decisions.

This course assumes a basic level of business knowledge including basic finance, economics, and statistics.

Syllabus

Module 1: Fundamentals of Managerial Finance.

Core concepts and ethics, time value of money, risk and return, and valuation.

Module 2: Long-term Investment Decisions.

Cost of capital, capital budgeting and cash flows, capital budgeting techniques, risks and refinements in capital budgeting.

Module 3: Long-term Financing Decisions.

Dividend policy, and Leverage & Capital Structure

Module 4: Short-term Financing Decisions

Accounts receivable and inventory, and mergers & acquisitions
